New Apple Products/Updates Ahead

On Monday, DigiTimes presented a substantive list of new Apple products and updates that, according to parts suppliers, could roll out in the coming months from the Cupertino-based tech giant. Based on the information gleaned from those in the know, the aforementioned list will likely include the following:

• An upgraded 9.7-inch iPad with a new ARM Cortex-A9-based processor and 512MB RAM.
• A 7-inch iPad using the Cortex-A9 processor and an IPS panel with a resolution of 1024×768.
• A new Apple TV using AMD's Fusion solution (no hard drive).
• A CDMA iPhone derived from metal materials with an integrated antenna.

Assuming all of the above will actually materialize, it could be the new Apple TV that consumers will first have access to - possibly before the holiday shopping season begins in full. According to the report from Digitimes, the refreshed Apple TV will present a user interface similar to the iPhone "with support for social networking websites, network multimedia and the App Store." Mass production of the device will likely begin in a few months.

As we reported late last week, all signs also point to a looming iPod refresh - an update that come possibly be revealed as early as next week. Initially, the iPod refresh was expected to take place in September.
